Box For 2 12" Kicker CVX's

I was planing on putting them in a ported box tuned to 35Hz. It would have about 6ft^3 of internal room. Kicker recommends 2.25ft^3 max per woofer ported. Should i go smaller for the box or no? I have 42" wide, 19" tall for external dimensions and depth is not really a problem. Should i do like 5ft^3 internal or stay with 6ft^3? An suggestions welcome on tuning and box size. Thank you.

x2 on kicker's recommendations. i tuned my single cvx @32 htz, sounds great. i had it @ 38 before and it was much too peaky for my taste but idk, i don't build boxes. my single is in 2.25 (kicker's max recommended specs) and it sound good to me.
