whats the best ported box size to run this in ? my amp is a hifonics Hifonics BXi 2608D wired to one ohm. also what should i tune it to? looking for low end bass and mostly spl. anyone that has had this sub before i would appriciate some input. thanks

well i have the elite v2's an in a sealed 3 cube box before sub displacement i was doing a 140 un manned in the kick with 1200 watts at i think 54hz. on the termlab.

i have to say these are some good subs an i think they do just as well n small boxes as well in big ones. its the 15elite by the way. so for this 18 i would reccomend trying 4cubes at first an go from there, well maybe even 5 an tune it too say 38hz. really depends on your vehicle

well i want ported for sure and it will be in an suv so sub up port back design is what im going with most likely but i have never owned an rd driver so hopefully i will be happy. no doubt i will be tho lol. thanks for the input man

5-7 cubes should do great. how much space do you have?
i have pretty much unlimited space for one 18'' it can only be as wide as 42-43inches wide as far as height and dept it can be as needed

i just ordered 4 4" aeros for my 18" box so i can change the tuning, but its gonna be around 6cubes, if i do the ports on the outside it will be 6.47 after wood and sub displacement. 6cubes if i do the ports on the inside, and i think im gonna have the box builder make a .5 cube box to put inside the box if i wanna make it 5.5cubes

what kind of 18'' do you have ? im just doing a slot port

its peaking at like 50-51hz, and my 15 peaked at like 46hz. think im gonna do the sub up and port back with the new box also. the 15 was sub up and port up like the 18 is now.

yeah i had a 15'' sub and port up in an suv also and didnt like how it sounded compared to sub up port back so now i mostly always do sub up port back. my last setup was two 15'' R's in 8.5ft^3 off the hifonics amp with subs up port back and i was pretty pleased with the out put.
