Box for 15A

Allright, here's the deal....right now I've got my 15a in a 1.7ft^3 tuned to 30Hz, and it's just not loud enough.

I want to build a new box, and i was thinking about the one on Ed's website...but I think I want to tune higher. is there any way that I could just modify the port length of that box to tune it to say 35 or 38 Hz?

Also, do you think tuning it to one of those frequencies is a good idea, would it make it noticably louder?

thats ****ing tiny. i ran my mtx 10s tuned to about the same in a slightly smaller box

i'd throw that thing in at LEAST a 2.5 cu ft box

i think 3 would be ideal

I know it's small, I already had the box built for my previous setup which used a 12...I just cut the hole bigger when I upgraded subs. Now I am ready to build a new box for this sub. Does anyone know what I would have to make the port length on the box on ed's site to make it tuned to say 38Hz? Help is appreciated

Honestly I'd say 38hz is a bit excessive. To tune that box to around 35hz, just leave off that last port wall (the small one).

The main reason it isn't very loud is because you are using such a tiny, low tuned ported box. Going to the larger box with the higher tuning will be MUCH louder, and probably sound much more like what you want.
