Box for 10W7

Well yesterday my brother aquired a 10w7 for free //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif The outer cone is punctured but he is gettin it replaced. He wants to build a sealed box because hes not into spl really. This is going into a 1998 firebird forumla and will be run off a JBL 601.1 What would be the recommended sealed enclosure size for this application?

Im thinking between 1.5 - 1.7 cu.ft before driver displacement. This is going to be firing directly at the hatch glass.

i would find out how much cubic area he is willing to loose for an enclosure, then design on paper both enclosures one ported and one sealed, then build the one the one enclosure that gives you the best SQ in the limited space.

There is a good amount of space to work with. I haven't built a ported box yet and i prefer the sound of a sealed box anyway so im going to make it sealed. My brother doesnt listen to music loud and isnt into car audio a whole lot.
