Box facing toward or away from inside of car?

Do you get more (audible) bass when the subs are faced toward or away from inside the car? I have 2 10" type r's powered by 1000w alpine amp in a 2000 honda civic ex coupe.

It'll be louder if you face them forward and completely seal off the trunk.

That is currently how I got them setup... so you're saying that with the seats up they hit harder? They seem to be pretty ****in loud when the seats are down

You can tune a little higher when you face them to the trunk and get the same lows as it has with lower tuning front facing, making it overall louder rear facing, it should only be louder facing in on about 40hz and up UNLESS you have it totally sealed off as in the deck sealed not just smushed up in the hole or the box is so big that it chokes them off rear facing. Usually causes cancellation on the lows front facing with nothing else added.
