Box doesnt fit in trunk

I am planning on building a box but the dimensions I have in mind are too large for the subwoofer to slide in the trunk. How hard would it be to assemble the box outside of the trunk, then take it apart and put it piece by piece in the trunk. After that I would reassemble and caulk. I figure it would make my box nearly theft proof //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif. How does this sound?

sounds like it would be a bith unless the trunk itself is significantly larger then the opening allowing you accces to all sides of the enclosure to do all your drilling and such
The seats fold down so I would have access to all sides. Plus I could spin the box. It is only a single sub but the height is the problem, 15" sub with 1" MDF.
