Box Dilemma for 13w7

I have a 13w7 coming in about a week. I need to build an enclosure. So I went a tad higher than JL specs, and designed a box 2.5 cubes @ 32Hz. Box was 14" Tall x 16" deep x 30" wide. Port Area was 3.25 x 12.5. I then realized, that the distance between the front of the box and the port wall was less than the height of the sub itself. I realized this wasn't going to work. I can't make the box any bigger than 14" tall/wide x 16" tall/wide. 16" x 16" is too big for my trunk. I hate to go sealed, it will be in a closed trunk of an Acura Legend and the seats don't fold down. You think I should go sub up port back? Or am I better off sub back and sealed? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

sub back sealed if the seats do not fold down IMO! Been there done that with all the JL w7 series subs.

They sound much better ported, but if all the trunk is sealed off, i'd go sealed.

JL specs **** also BTW, I built all my own enclosures and they all were bigger than the JL specs, and sounded much better as well. You will be happy

Build a sealed box. If you dont like it then do the ported box sub up port back. Or start hacking the seats out.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

14" x 16" tall/deep can't be exceeded. I built a box 16" x 16" tall/deep and it wouldnt fit. I just designed a box 3 cubes @ 32Hz Port W: 3" Port H: 12.5" Kerfed. 39.5" x 14" x 16" That will be sub up port back. I think im gonna do it once, and do it right. of course I will double baffle it and flushmount the sub:)
