also, JL recommend that the 13w7 be @ 1.875 cubes when sealed. the sealed range is 1.5-2.25 cubes. you think i should go for ~ 2.25 cubes or stay around 1.875? im going for the best output and lows here. TIA

id rather not port. besides, w7's are ap;parently better sealed. it doesnt need to be LOOOOOOOOOOW, but i want some nice clean lows.

The recommended sealed should be the .707 Q everyone talks about, or the flattest possible response. Making the box bigger will get you a little more low end, but at the cost of overall SPL.

I'd sugguest go with the sugguested size. Right now my box is peaky at about 30hz, and depending on what you listen to, there is such a thing as *too* low.

thats is correct. if you want to go sealed then yes go the 2 cubes.

IMHO, W7s are at their best ported. Jl's HO box is a great example of this.
I'd do 3.2cF NET, 32Hz w/ 30"sq. of port area.

I said ported also in a prior post, because you can tune it how you want it.

Ported boxes can be mad for SPL, SQ, SQL depending on what you want thats the beauty of them. So you could easily build an SQL box where the w7 is gonna perform phenomon.

in my opinion JLw7 performs best in a ported box, its suspension is stiff and made to take it,

you spent the money on the sub, why not make it sound at its best and get your money's worth

well id rather keep it sealed. its an easy build. its less demanding of the sub. and ive heard from JL that w7's prefer being sealed for sq.
