Box Confusion

hey wuts up

need some help picking out a box

a bouth a Alpine type X and running off an eclipse 1000wattz (500x2 850 bridged)

what would be better for this settup a sealed or ported and wut are the diffrenced in sound between the two

i was thinking ported be better because i see alpine more of an spl speaker, me persoannly im a quality guy i dun want it to iust be LOUD

i read up about the two but everyone gets a lil to technical, ENGLISh Please

I'll be going with a sealed box when i buy my type-x... The type-x is more of a SQ sub, and the sealed box will help this feature. You may want to try and find something a little more powerful amplifier wise. Ive read that these subs like having at least 1000w rms, especially in a sealed box.

lol i heard in my friends car he bought the alpine box it was LOUDDDD i wont take away from the loudness in the sealed would i?? i doubt it cuz this thing is loud n hes only running a v12 600watt mono and it still pounds hard
