i just ordered a 18" FI BTL today and went out and bought some MDF to start my box build, i have some dimensions that i would like to have some of you smart/experienced builders double check before i begin. (built with RE calculator)

40" wide

22" tall

15" deep

.75" thick mdf

4" wide port

12" long port

tuned to 35 hz

what i am asking is if this is close to accurate and enough for my btl?//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif:crap://content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

It would help those that dont use that sub, this site is filled with FI users. no parameters required for that comon sub... HOWEVER, OP, we need to know what vehical you got and how much room you want to lose...

i have a 2005 Pt cruiser, and my hatch is 40" wide exactly and i can go 27" tall due to the slope of the hatch and a max of about 15" deep alsoo due to the slope . i wanted to fire the sub facing upwards but there is not enough space (depth wise) to mount it like that, so i am stuck either firing it towards the hatch or towards the seat with about 4 inches or so of excursion room.

your measurements leave you with about 4 cubes tuned to 35+hz, that sub says 5-10 cubes required. I think you gonna have to wall it in. If you made it 30 in deep instead of 15, you would be at 10cubes after displacment roughly. Realisticaly, I see maybe 6-8 cubes you can get is you walled it in. otherwise, you can seal it. and feed it major wattage. IMO
