x2When I build them I used clamps and screws. Once you build for a while you will find that clamps all though they work great do not squeeze as tight as you need some times. Screws are always the best choice in my book. I could clamp and nail them and shave off a good hour on build time, but I like quality over quantity.
I was under the impression that the glue (titebond 3 in my case) once cured was stronger than the screws and wood? So wouldn't the screws be useless after the cure? I mean I can see your point if the glue has not dried that screws for sure would hold the wood tighter then clamps but once cured aren’t they now the weak link? I am sure if Mike said it then it’s true but I guess I am just confused. I use screws with my port walls because I am unable to use my current clamps to hold it down. Learn something every day I guess.x2Mike did a test and proved that using screws strengthens the enclosure compared to using brad nails and just clamps.
Use weight on your port walls. I have a couple AQ HDC back up subs that I use for that lol
If she is on the box who is in the kitchen?? LOLI wish I had spare subs lying around hell I wish I could afford to even have just one sitting around LOL.I guess I could make my wife sit on the box until it dry’s. I will just tell here it’s an essential part of the build process. She might buy that.
