I am currently using this box for 2 pioneer premiers tsw 3004 subs.

I Think the box is 2 small for them and reckon I can get them sounding better. I have changed a few things on the re calculator and wanted to know if making the port width half an inch wider would make a difference or is it best to leave it at 3inches as it is. I can only accomodate 3cf max after displacement but would I notice the difference. Im getting 43.75sq port area as opposed to 37.5sq but thats by making the port .5inch wider and the total port lengh 41.75 and the box 2inches deeper. thanx for any help as Im ready to build.

Also the tuning frequency drops down to 28hz with the alterations

Im not happy man because I can only fit in what I have already and all I could do is make the dept 4inches wider but that would mean I would not even be able to access the 2nd battery.

what else can I do ? should I just go for 1 twelve instead of 2

Is that back in that pic double baffle? If I were you I would either port one sub, try and work a box with 2-3 4" aeros, or seal both. You could always do external port.

Edit: and definitely try to get at least 1.8 cubes per sub ported...

No, its not dbl baffle. Do you think one 12in subwoofer would play better than the 2 I have if I made a box just for one

Is there any answers to my 1st post please. Would more port area make a difference. I can make the box 1 inch wider taking it to 33in x 2 inches deeper taking it to 32 Wide X 20 Deep x 14 High. If I make the port 3.5in compared to 3inches, would that be ok. Im now getting a total port lengh of 41.75 and port area of 43.75sq compared to before and tuning at 28hz. According to the Re calculator, the total would be 3.1ft. Does that sound ok or is it not worth it. I have taken the old box out and am ready to build on some advise thanx

Do a 3.75cuft Box @ 30-35 hz.
And a wider port means more area. Depending on the driver, it could do better, or worse... and depends how much extra space you have.
thanx for reply, I cant go any bigger than the dimensions I've given, should I take some of the port length of to accomodate ?

Or I can make the port 4in wide and that gives me 50sq in of area

Just come back from getting my wood cut.

New dimensions again. This is all I can accomodate

I have gone with this

33.5 D X 14.5 H X 19.5 D

3.5in port width

port lenght 32.25

port area 47.25

According to Re calculator its coming out at 3.5cf and 29hz tuning.

I have got a week off work so will start building 2morrow

Any final critisms or advice please.

Should I go with more port length or less as I have some spare sheet left

Is 3.5in port width enough or should I have gone with 4in

Im sorry to have asked about these subs a million times, just want to get it right and compared to my previous build, this should sound better ?

Port length or Port Area? Im thinking you meant port Area but you should be fine. It is not the most but should be just A O K!

Sorry meant port area. I noticed if I change the port length to more, my tuning goes up but box volume decreases. I think I will leave the port lenght as is to keep my 29hz. How much will this box be net after I put my subs in roughly.

Would a 4in port of been better ?

if you could have done a 4 inch port i would have done it. but what is done is done its really not huge. And yes thats the idea bro the longer the port the lower the tunning. So leave it the way it is. you will be fine bro! Build it!
