I will use black fleckstone on the box an white gloss paint for the baffle. Will most likely use gloss white enamel for paint. Used some blue gloss enamel before an it turned out pretty good.

Jump on the bandwagon and do red.

And sorry to bombard you with questions, but where do you get said paint / how much? I'm considering doing this rather than carpeting my next box.

Nah all questions are koo wit me. An ill do red if someone wants red. An i get my paint from home depot. Fleckstone can get pricey, so if your doing a big box some other textured paints are out there that are cheaper. Shit is $8.50 a can, here it is.

Yeah. It makes sense. The box in my car has a 2-1/2" recess, but thats so it clears the seats.
EDIT:: What paint do you use to paint it?

I actually spray painted my box, and it took like 3 cans to do a 2 cubed box 'cause it kept absorbing all the paint.

did you prime the box first?

Got some done this weekend. Sanded an rounded over the edges yesterday. Pretty much jus getting it ready for paint. An today i painted the baffle, with help from my girl(but not in a thong today). 3 coats primer an 3 coats white gloss. Sanding with 330 between each coat. Came out pretty well.
