Box build for 2 kicker comps

A buddy of mine is looking to make a box for his two 12" kicker comps the black models. It will be in a trunk in a VW. The specs for sealed are 1.25-3.5 and ported 1.75-2.25 per sub. I never messed with kicker comps. So what would be better ported or sealed and how much airspace after displacement of port if ported is best way.

Hes got around 400-500 watts to play with.

Also if ported is best way to go should go with slot or just go easy way and use a piece of 6" or two 4" pieces of pvc for aero's

by the way the ports if go with aero wouldnt be flared would that be an issue

id do ported. 4 cubes to 33hz. thats what i had my CVRs in and they did great.

well these are the comps the black ones not the cvr's didnt know if there is much of a difference.

Also will talk to him and see if he wants a low tunning for moving air and vibrations or just higher tunning for loud to the ear and more of a louder notes and not low notes.

Also does it matter if we use two 4" pvc ports and arent flared

ok well these are the black comps, didnt know if it was much difference. I also didnt know if these subs performed best in sealed or ported. If i go ported can i use just two 4" straight non flared pvc ports or 1 6" straight pvc port

go with the single 6" and at least try to round its edges

ok, i figure just go slot since it will result in less port noise.

Then again it will be in a trunk so wouldnt hear port noise anyway right???

Well then i will just go with slot port

how can i figure out the port area of a slot port i know more about aeros than slots

a 6" equals 28.26 inches of area just convert it to a slot port , say you have 14 inches in inner height it would be a port 2x14
