Line Arrays are over rated...

Pfffft, the McIntosh line arrays I heard at the RMAF was one of my favorite speakers, liked it just as much maybe better than the B&W Signature Diamond series I heard.

I've heard the McIntosh Line Arrays and not cared for them at all. It wasn't that they sounded bad they just didn't impress me. They kind of sounded boring and bland.

Plus, you are comparing a 2-Way design to a line array. That is like debating if you should order hot tea or a shot of whiskey. Do you have any experience listening to Salk? How would this compare to the Logans and B&W's ? Over at AVS the songtower is repped in almost every high end thread and referenced many times for being the best qualtity/price bargain available for $1500 a pair.

Couldn't agree more, they just didn't do it for me. The Emerald Physics CS2's on the other hand that were at RMAF are pure sex. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif If I was looking at a $3k pair, they would be at the top of the list with the Linkwitz Orions (diy, not pre-built). Word is that Madisound is going to have the Orions at next years RMAF.

Well went to the dealer today....was please with alot of different sytems that i listened to. One brand that I never really heard of caught my attention, took a look at their web site and all...Aperion Audio....If anyone can give me any input on their lines...that wud be great too. thanks

I've read a few reviews on them. Don't remember much, but I'll look them up tomorrow.

Anyway, I thought they were a factory direct brand... I didn't know they had dealers.

My mistake....They dont have dealers...the owner just had two seperate systems used as a demo...which were not for sale.

Why? Martin Logans sound beautiful, if I had the money I may be running them, but I don't so I have the B&Ws.

I think they are something you have to have a taste for, sort of like electrostatics and ribbon tweeters.
But, if you like them awesome for you. There is a place for everything. My brother uses PA speakers (which are $5265 a pair) and a Yamaha DM1000V2 ($3500) for his home audio system. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif He likes volume.

I took this picture last weekend when I was home.

That was taken about 40 ft away from the speakers listening to Sammy Hagar.

40ft away is impressive. I can get 126 from 20ft with teh lines. I can't get 40 away for any comparison.
