Umm jw how do you have over 1k posts and have never done that.

Anyways i would recommend getting tools specifically for the job. Makes it a hell of a lot easier. Just google this

Cobalts are cake. You take off the panel under the shifter, then remove the entire console around the shifter and radio.

Panel poppers and pick hooks. Pretty much the only tools you need.

Or you can use panel poppers, whatever your comfortable with.

why not install the loc at the rear speakers? or are they in the rear doors?
