Well I have watched the many videos on YouTube on the recone process.... One thing nobody really covered much was the tinsel leads. When it's time to do the tinsel lead soldering do you just use the old tabs on the binding posts...??? Or do most reocens come with new tabs..??

What's have you guys done?

Just use the old "tabs". You can use your soldering iron and possibly melt away some of the old solder and clean it up a bit first. Just make sure you get the leads lined up with the terminals. Reconing isn't a difficult process if you just take your time. Good luck

That's what I may try to do today.... Still would rather use new tabs, guess only way you can get them is by buying whole new binding post...??

The sub is an icon 15. Basket has been cleaned as well as the gap. Sub wasn't blown just torn surround.

can also use a dremel to clean off the tabs.

I remember my first recone, about 80 subs ago //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wow.gif.23d729408e9177caa2a0ed6a2ba6588e.gif

Take your time, not much to it really. Do NOT forget to remove the shims before putting on the dustcap. Happens to the best of us....
