Towards what end?

Same ones in the 60s. I give mad props to any non college eduacated blacks that could pass them. I missed one....they had to get 100%.

This is not to say blacks are inherently dumb. What I am saying if it is hard for college student, it will be extremely hard for people of the general population.

If people want that word gone, stop using it, or anything that means it. How can people take it seriously when black people (not all of course) still say it to eachother?

what blacks have done with the n word is similar to what homosexuals have done with "***." they've taken power over a word that is pejorative. Typical of in group/out group behavior, they use it amongst themselves without its prior meaning, but when the word is used by outsiders it (depending on the homosexuals in question) can be interpreted as offensive...

Most of the literacy tests i've seen were designed to be impossible... white people would be exempted by the proctor and blacks would not...
i wouldn't mind a literacy test, but they'd have an uphill battle due the the negative history behind the practice and laws enacted to prevent such a thing...

I know...your knowledge of the consititution would have to be near scholarly....you would have to get 100%, etc.

I push for literacy tests so people don't vote Mickey Mouse....and since the candidates would be dealing with a better educated group of people, they would be less likely to make short term gains that hurt us long term.

so i just went to websters dictionary online to see what the actual definition of the word is.......wasnt good lol first two definitions actually said black person lol

although the 3rd says :3: a member of a socially disadvantaged class of persons

The same reason girls can call each other *****es and not get mad but when a man calls them a ***** or **** or tramp they go crazy. You dont have to use n*gger when you get mad at a black person. Dog could have just called her a ***** or whatever he would call a white woman but since the woman he was talking about was black he called her a n*gger. I don't care what anybody on this board says he didn't have to call her a n*gger.

haha its so stupid people blow this shit out of proportion. I use the word 30 times a day and I dont have any problems with "black" people.
The word today is nothing what it used to be. definition is: a victim of prejudice similar to that suffered by blacks; a person who is economically, politically, or socially disenfranchised. or Used as a disparaging term for a Black person.

if that's what it actually is supposed to mean, why do black people call each other that name? Why do some blacks greet each other with "*****"?

It ovbiously is not a doragitory(sp?) term anymore, unless used as an insult by a racist person to a black person. Its just like the word F*ck. It can be used in many different ways and mean a ton of different tings.
