bought speakers from a junk yard today. LMAO!

I blew every tweeter in my van recently when i upgraded to the ppi amps. so i have been looking for some cheap speakers to hold me over till i have some cash to get decent shit.

well while i was trolling the junk yard i found a minivan with 4 brand new condition infinity reference 6802cf's. i picked them up for 6 bucks each. i used a dremel to open the 6.5" holes under my dashpad to fit them in the dash and mounted the other pair in my doors. i have them powered with a ppi pc275 with the gain set at 1/4 with the attenuator turned off. treble on +1 @15khz and these things sound way better compared to my old type-s alpines. Most songs i am able to go full volume with no audible distortion at all.

but my question is do you think these 4 speakers will be safe on that ppi? it fried my type-s set.

well i've been chancing it cuz i cant resist spinning that knob. its been awhile since i actually had a system that i could enjoy rock and metal on. my old highs were very screechy in the upper mid section which made metal sound like pure shit. now i can enjoy my metal again. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/clap.gif.178cba2c538c68e720c727fcb024b19c.gif

hopefully they will hold up...i have had problems with infinity speakers in the past...probably why you got them so cheap....
not the case. this is a you pull it junk yard and they were hidden behind factory panels and hooked to a stock deck. usually they take out the good stuff before it hits the yard but these slipped by and the price for a speaker (OEM or aftermarket is $6 flat , no questions asked). i actually found a $500 dollar pair of boston's out there about 10 years ago and only paid $6 for the pair (Prices were lower 10 years ago)

paid 60 dollars for the pair of ppi's i'm running and the guy threw in a 12" thunder 7500 for good measure. but not too often do i run in to old school amps unless i am hunting for them. right now i want a pc2350 but i dont have the cash to get one.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Junk yards down here in az dont let anything good slip. It is rare to find a you pull around here. Last few time I went to a junkyard, they litterally had every car stripped and parts catagorized on shelves. Much suckage.
