Bought a Camaro z28

WTF do you know about paint?

When the clear has delaminated from the basecoat, you need a complete repaint. GM, Chrysler, and Dodge are notorious for having the '80-90's delam problem.

The basecoat fails and the clear coat flakes away from it. Most people think its the other way around. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

The only thing you can do is sand it down to the original primer or metal, EPOXY prime, paint and clear...provided there is no other bodywork needed. Anything short of that can result in a paint job that won't last very long.

Overall pretty nice car for the money...

For suspension upgrades (like sub frame connectors that should be the first thing you do) go to UMI Performance Inc.

Just remember that the auto's came with 2.73:1 gears....unfortunately. Summit racing is your friend.

The hood, the ground effects on the nose, the 5.7 TPI... it seems to have all the iroc-z goodies except the badges and interior. Do you know if it was an iroc or an RS slappin?

explain this....

Most 5 speeds came with either 3.08 or 3.27's. Some performance cars had 3.42s

2.73 are pretty low gears.

yeah but that one is a Z28 pretty much top of the line Camaro in 87 the only thing nicer was the IROC Z's

That year may have been, but not all of them. My brother had an RS with the 5.7TPI. His was made after they'd dropped the iroc-z tho.

What year was your bros car? I know i had a 91 rs convertible and it had a 5L (305). I would guess that is stock and the 5.7 was an option.

91-92 weren't Iroc's, then the 93-02 are the 4th gen
