Why would it? It is pretty hard to bottom out that driver unless you are sending it a shit load of distorted power. It is should be fine In that box.

as long as you don't run it below the tuned frequency, you should have no problems.

It does for certain frequencies. I wouldn't fully power a woofer playing a 25hz note when the box is tuned to 37hz. However, I would be more inclined too if the box was tuned at 28hz even if the boxes were both the same size.

You'll most likely run into thermal problems before mechanical problems (bottoming out the suspension).

Without making a new thread, if he's tuning to 28 hz, what should his ssf be set to ? Half an octave lower than 28 hz is... uh... ?

Bottomless simply means its suspension limited, as opposed to motor limited. The suspension will bottom out before the motor does. This does not really make it bottomless, as the moniker implies.

Where you should set your SSF will depend on the size of the enclosure, and power fed to the driver. At a 28hz tuning freq (or even 30), it doubtless you'll need a SSF at all, provided you dont enjoy running high powered burps in the sub 20hz range frequently.
