Boston G5 & GTR...Any Comments?

I've got a g5 and gtr in a 1cu ft box and it gets plenty loud for me. Its running off a memphis 500d and the gtr is tuned to 30hz and I love the sound of it. I guess im not much for a huge amount of bass but for the size of it and theamount of power it takes run it I think it does pretty well. Most of the time I have the sub turned down because it can be to much for me.

yeah im looking at getting the g5 and the gtr with the boston box built for them for 379 shipped. i would get the buy one get 1 crutchfield but then i dont have enough money for an amp :/

Not too shabby, but I would get a custom box built for it. Not some pre-fab boston box, unless that is considered custom, which I doubt.

Boston's factory boxes are completely unlike other manufacturer's boxes (especially Kicker and MTX) because they are tuned for optimum SQ in the average car, not a 1note wonder fart-box.

I have seen Boston reccomended and/or Boston supplied boxes win many a D-class SQ comp local back in the late 90's.

Honestly; I can't believe more people around here are not a fan, as they supply some of the greatest sounding gear for the money.

so you think my memphis 500mcd and the g5 with the gtr will still pound pretty hard? i know they will sound good but im kinda a bass head. i love it, especially when im burnt haha

I'm using a memphis mcd500 and it pushes it just fine. I used it in an obcon GZ 755 single 12" box and it was very loud for a single 12 on 500 watts. Not sure on the amount of room you have because this box is 4.1 cu ft but I had it in a 97 grand am and it was a really tight fit. But it worked really well with the g5.

room isnt an issue i have a 2 12 mtx's in a sledghammer box atm. is ur box ported. and do u think a 12" l7 would hit harder than the g5 and gtr?

First off i have heard a g5 and a g2 next to one another and the g5 is in a whole other league...2nd the L7 would be louder but it would not sound anywhere near as nice as the g5
