My cousin have a PDX1000.1 and i told him 2 12 IDQv.3 is perfect for his set up but he want 1 12:crazy: so i found 2 subs that can handle 1000rms cost $450-$500 but the question is which one will sound better in SQ? thanks my cousin Tim.

I just recently picked up a 10" IDmax and the SQ is pretty nice on it. I don't even have it in near the right box yet but I am impressed. From what I understand you don't need 1000W to push the IDmax hard. Some are having issues trying to give it the rated RMS power. Long as he is smart with it there should not be a problem. I can't speak for the Boston as I haven't heard one yet.

The Boston SPG555 is a beast,

the voice coil can be replaced, thats if you burn it out.

It really sounds nice if you got a passive raditor for it.

it will give you best of both worlds.

I think it can hold its own

if i was to compare it to any Image Dynaimcs subs, I would say it's more on par with the IDMAX

yeah when i get the time im going to add a passive radiator to my 12w6v2.

So what are you guys planning for front speakers?

i have a pair of Polk SR6500 comp and they sound good but the mid is not soft, i plan to replace with a pair of Morel Dotech Ovation 6 and put the Polk on rear.

do you mean the mids kind of harsh?

I think the polks are clean, but a little bright for my taste.

why not step up the Morel's Hybrid Ovation, for comp set i think they one of best well balanced sounding comps on the market.

but have you ever thought about going DIY??

maybe going active or even trying out some raw driver, before buying a wole comps set!

I wouldnt buy another comp set ever.

i love how they sound but just the mid piss me off, they not soft and smooth, i have tried so many brand in the past like Hertz High Energy, Alpine type X, JL XR etc...and they not good enough and now the Polk is not good enough either i just put them on rear for fill in and get another set for front, maybe you right i should step up to Morel Hybrid Ovation or Rainbow Germanium, which one you like better?

I like the morels a little better

But if your ears are that picky I would go diy

You can mismatch speakers to fine the right sound that works for you

If not maybe look into hybrid audio

You can take with the owner Scott about may Interest you.

Very happy with my Morel Elate set. They dont have the strongest midbass out of the sets I have ran in the past but they sound great to me.
