Bose/Delco "crap" in my C4

I purchased a '94 Corvette and the Bose/Delco audio sounds so AM. All the speakers seem to be working (but maybe the amps aren't), but there is no rich base that I would expect from Bose. I don't know whether to try and fix this system, buy a stereo that works with this system or trash the whole thing and buy a new system. Any suggestions?

I'm sorry I mis spelled "bass" and I have had Bose home audio in the past and they were quality products. I guess their car audio is different. That is why i joined this forum....to gain knowledge from others such as yourself. If you are familiar with corvette audio setups, any info is appreciated. Thanks!

The amps have to be working, for the speakers to be working.

Junk it, and reinstall.

Bose is junk home or car. I'm not going to get in the argument, but you sure don't get what you pay for, lets leave it at that.

The thing with Bose is that it seems to get better every year. And they probably deteriorate like any other system after 15 years... My 99 Infiniti with Bose was just an alright stock system. (this is comparing to non-Bose factory systems). A 2007 Chevy truck with Bose sounds REALLY good, I thought it had a complete entry level system installed, when in fact it was just Bose. So I can only imagine 1994 Bose sounding like crap.

And dont try to "mix and match" aftermarket parts with Bose parts. It will get even worse. In my 99, Bose HU sends a millivoltage through the wiring which goes to a Bose amp and then amplified to the Bose speakers. They are all designed to work with eachother and shit will get funky quick if you start installing only a few aftermarket parts, like just replacing the deck.

My suggestion: Either remove EVERYTHING Bose and do the whole system at once, or don't do it at all. This is life with Bose.

Finally someone answered my questions, without condescending remarks! Thanks for the info. I thought trashing the whole thing is what I needed to do.Thanks again!
