I just got new subs. i've never had new subs before. ANd i've got a question. Theres a little rubber type boot over the magnet in the back.. do.. i take that off?
No it doesn't block any vents. I'm wiring my voice coils together, is there anywhere were i don't want this wire to touch on the sub when i put it in the box?
Yeah, you don't want the wires to touch anywhere except in the terminals. You are using insulated wire, right //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
The boot is strictly cosmetic. Both my e12a.22 and TC9 prototype had rubber boots on them...just a cosmetic touch.
My DAT M6 has a boot surrounding the magnet, too. Was told by the dealer it's purely cosmetic and serves no mechanical purpose at all and removing it (if such is your preference) would make no difference in the sub's operation whatsoever.
how does my wiring look? negative to negative, postive to positive. then hook speaker wire negative to one negative terminal. positive to one positive terminal.
you mean like the rl-p has on its magnet? it has a rubber paivce that covers the sides of the magnet where some subs like a xxx just have bare magnets. not sure what the purpose/advantage is to having or not having it on there but i left mine on my es'x rl-p with no problems
