BMW Vacuum Lock alarm/keyless

Has anyone found a reliable workaround for adding keyless for the BMW vacuum locks? 1989-1995 BMW 5 series cars. I was told the only solution is to add a couple of relays and actuators to actually push up the little lock mechanism and that they rarely work.
