BMW 745i AND 745LI?

im in the market for a luxury car lookin to spend more then $45k i was on autotrader.com and i really love the look of the 7 series..i saw one on the street the other day on some black chrome 22'' wheels..it was sexy..for the price of $45 im in the 2003-2004 range..so does anyone have expeirence with these models? hows the upkeep and maintence on them? break down alot? any troubles? i used to love devilles the dts models..but everywhere i look i see them..even really young people 23 and under driving devilles now..i want something not any kid can buy which is why im not doing the deville..dont really car much for infiniti,jaquar,cant stand mercedes,so what you guys think?

I like the bmw's a lot, there is one around my town thats red with chrome 22s and its freakin sweet.

Nice cars, just got rid of my 02 745li a few months ago, the idrive sytem took a long time to get used to but worked well if you kknew the ins and outs, awesome to drive and there is absolutely no wind or road noise at all. I did get hit in is once and it took the accident well but it spent 6 mos. in the shop to get it back to new. Before that I had an s500 and the bmw was much better, faster less problems and it was a little bit cheaper. I'm looking into getting another new one, but Im liking the Quattroporte more.

i feel if i can afford a $485,000 house and pay extra every month..why would i not be able to afford a $45k car? ohhh i know..because i didnt wana spend my own money all at once on a surgery i needed and decided to just pay payments and build my credit better then it is? right..right your right..i cant afford it..lol..if you only knew anything about rich people..not saying that i am..but they never use there own money..they get loans and use the banks money and paying lil by lil from theres..thats how they become RICH..now go do your homework.....child..

did you ever have to take it to the mechanic besides when you had the car accident? someone told me they dont break down much but when they do its not only expensive which obvously a 745 would be,,but the parts are hard to come by?

I had a few issues with the torque converter, and some other small electrical issues but it was all under warranty. The only big one was the torque converter, which if I recall correctly was a recall. I put about about 75k miles on it in 4 years. I have no idea on cost or availability because mine was all under warranty.

My sister and her husband own two of them and they love them. She does complain about the computer issues, but other then that, they are solid cars. Yah hers is lowered on 22"s and looks sweet. Also the up keep is a lot,even for an oil change. I am sticking with good ol american made cars, easier to keep up and parts,upgrades are just cheaper... I love my good ol Roush and Suburban.

i dont think im gona spend $80-$100k on a car..lol not unless i win the mega millions lottery..lol
