BMW 740i Box and Amp Rack Design

Hi, I have a 98 BMW 740i and I'm going to be building a box for it soon. My father is a master carpenter and as such I'd like to create a more intricate design, possibly incorporating 2 subs on either side of an amp rack, displaying the amps in the middle. I have two 12" exile subs, and two amps to power my speakers and the subs.

We know a great deal about carpentry, however we know pretty much nothing about acoustics. Where would be a good place to begin.

The dimensions I have to work with in the trunk are as follows:

Height: 18"

Width: 35"

Length: 23"

The subs have a depth of 7".

Any help with an interesting design would be great!
