BMW 328i (upgrading on lease?)

So my moms gonna loan me the Beamer for a year and i'm just gonna sell my truck and get a new one down the road.

I think its a 2008 BMW 328i or maybe the 325, I can't really remember tbh. The only problem is that the car is on a 2 year lease. Anyways, would it be pretty easy to detect if I put my AVIC-N3 in there instead of the stock one? Not sure if I can live without navigation, and i'm still trying to figure out how i'm going to do without bass for a year or so lol.

What do you guys think? Should I toss it in there, or would it be too risky?

Well how hard would it be to take out the regular deck in that and slap that in there? I would hate to change out a deck/Navi in a newer BMW myself.

Just be careful to not screw anything up and put it back to stock when you trade it in. Really simple as that.

Had over 4k into my S10 truck when I leassed it and I took everything out and back to stock and I didn't get charged a dime.

I don't think it would be a problem, as long as you don't screw anything up.

GPS' are pretty cheap nowadays. There's only two companies for navigation software, all you pay for is the name or screen resolution and such. The Garmin Nuvi GPS is a very good unit.

i say leave the factory deck in

get a rockford 3sixty or such

if i remember correctly, the new bimmers are pretty much controled by a knob in the middle of the center console????? I tink it even controls the ac and such

either way,if its a lease i wouldnt mess with the factory stuff to much

also if you got a 3sixty it would be easy to add amps to the setup

well it could be done but on a beamer thats going to be tricky especially an 08. I know on my dads 02 he wanted a new head unit but it would interfere with the whole electrical system so he just said screw it. IMO wont be easy but can be done if you want it enough

there is nothing really difficult about removing the HU in that car as long as it doesnt have idrive...if it has idrive then as stated many of the vehicles electrical system run through that so you are stuck with that factory deck....if not metra makes a dash kit for the car and the radio is not hard to get out.....simply pop the ac controls out and there are two screws holding the radio in.....adding bass would not be hard either as wires are not difficult to run in the car and the battery is in the rear passenger side of the trunk.....

as for the above poster there is less then nothing ricky about adding a radio to an 02 3 series ...there is nothing special to screw up...metra makes a kit and harness for the car worst case is an amp bypass but nothing special even then.

its actually a 5 series 540i. I dont completely know the case I think its connected to his cars computer, it is very possible to get around though. but i do know that there are companies that make direct replacements and subs and stuff specially for some european whips. He put his money under the hood rather than in the audio
