Bluetooth "mode" non-existant on reciever

I have a DS18 CDS36BT 52w x 4 and 4 pioneer TS-165P 200w max door speakers. I am running the speakers off the receiver's internal amp. I have had my setup for a couple months now and just recently my bluetooth stopped working on the receiver. When i attempt to pair my phone, my phone says it is connected to audio and media, however, when i try switching the receiver over to bluetooth mode (like I've done everytime since I installed it), the bluetooth is non existant now. Instead of switching through "aux in", "radio", "bluetooth", and "cd", it skips "bluetooth". I have also noticed my cds get really hot when in the receiver, which led me to the thought that my receiver is overheating and maybe fried the bluetooth feature. So I then came to the conclusion that maybe my receiver doesnt have enough or maybe too much power running to my speakers. Unfortunately, i cannot find an rms rating for my pioneer speakers so i have no idea how much i need to supply to them.

Am I on the right track? If so, what do you suggest i do?

If not, where do you think the problem is?
