Blown Tweeter - why?

OK this makes absolutely 0 sense...

According to my DMM ( i set it to AC and played a 250hz test tone) the speakers where getting 8.76v on volume 25 and 12.4v on volume 28... so... if I am not mistaken that is 20watts on volume 25 and 40 watts on volume 28 (they are rated 50rms)

I feel as if I am measuring this wrong...

I got the pioneers in yesterday and I can go up to max volume with no audible distortion on them with the same gain setting... was I really only putting 20wrms to my memphis? There doesnt look to be any damage to the speakers at all but there is no sound coming from the tweeter...

Strange indeed my friend, but hell I cant talk, I got my Memphis crossover today that I been waiting on so I can go active with my mids and highs, but one of my ID oems blew today //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

It was my fault, and honestly I should know better. Puts things on hold for a min.

No comment.......seriously, had been using them passive with the Blaupunkt crossovers until I sold them the other day, running off my Punch 150. I had them mounted on my rear deck so I could give the speakers some break in time before my kicks were done. After I sold the crossovers, I ran the Ids off the highpass of the Punch (no bandpass, I know //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif) and my Orion on the tweeters (crossed over at 3000hz using the built in unit).

That, plus a lil too much gain and poof. The perfect end to a perfect week lol.

Cant be too upset, they were sounding great passive, but I heard the difference with the tweeters when I went active on them. I should have just waited for the Memphis to get here, but being impaitent and look where im at.

Guess ill be giving Hessdawg a PM soon, and my kicks will have to go on hold for a min.

Well I adjusted it to 15.5v now on volume 28 (it was on the lowest setting... now its just a bit up). So that should be 60wrms now right? The pioneer are rated 60wrms.
