Blown headlight due to stereo?

I was hooking up my 1000/1 amp to my subwoofer, but I did not remove the negative off the battery nor did I remove the fuse. I stuck the power wire into the amp and sparked a bit. I removed the fuse and inserted in the power wire and everything seems to work fine. I notice today my driver side head lights was out, but my passenger light was fine. My head lights are aftermarket HID lights. Could the light bulb went out because of the error I did without removing the fuse at first or is my stereo system pushing too much power for my electrical system to handle causing a blown headlight? These head lights are fairly new, i'd say about 5 months old. Any clue on what could have happened? Thanks.
