Blown fuse????

I was recently installing a new amp into my 2000 Buick Regal. I blew the 20A fuse on the amp and had to replace it. As I was tightening down the wires on the amp, the remote wire and the power wire touched, causing my CD player to turn off. I have no idea what to do now...I'm guessing that I blew one of my cars fuses, but I don't know which one. Need help!!!

look at the inside of the cover of the fuse box or the manual, most likely there. If not, look for a blown fuse. You MAY have toasted your HU though.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Check the fuse behind the radio.

Next check the fuse box for an accesory or radio fuse.

On top of those ideas maybe look at the fuse you installed on the power line from your Battery to your Amps. If you have more than one AMp connected up to that line remember that You must have a fuse that has a combined Amperage higher than that which all the accessories require added together. You should check the 20 Amp Fuse again also. It may just not be enough

Disconnect Negative from Battery

Check Grounds on (BATTERY and AMPS) as well as Fuses running along Power Cable.

When I first has my system installed, the same thing happened. However, my buddy was the one working on it and he ended up replacing a fuse, I just don't know which one. This is extremely frustrating...I'm riding around with exactly ZERO music. That's the cool thing to do...

Ok simple instructions are this:

1) inside engine compartment, connected to battery should be your power line for your stereo system. Within 18 inches of the Battery should be a Fuse box where specifically the Stereo Power Cable runs into. Check that Fuse.

2) Check the Fuses in the Vehichle Fusebox where there are labels usually for what every fuse is used for.

3) Check the Fuse usally placed on or near your amp.

If any of those are popped replace them, only after you make sure your Grounding wires are securly tightened down to a Frame of your vehicle.

If the Fuse in Step 1) is popped, also make sure that you have the right amperage for your entire stereo system ( for example if you have 2 amps and one requires a 50 Amp Fuse and the other requires a 70 Amp Fuse you then need to have at least a 120 Amp fuse in that Engine Compartment Stereo Power Cable Fuse Box.
