So i was preparing to put in my big 3 yesterday getting ring terminals drilled out to fit bolts cleaning grounds etc. I took the stock wire off my alternator positive for a minute to check the size of the outcoming bolt then put it back on.

As I put the negative ring back on the battery i popped the fuse on my positive side of the battery at the terminal. (Fuse came stock from the factory)

I am running a stock electrical (battery and alt). With only a 500 watt sub in the trunk off a 85 amp alt. Not that much strain on the electrical. Any advice is appreciated.

^that's a good thing to learn. make sure your wiring is covered up/protected from shorts. high-temp split loom should protect the wiring, zip ties should secure it, and the alt positive terminal should be covered.
