Blown both amps?

Hey guys I got a question..

I was just driving normally the other day and I had both of my amps shut down on me and now they will not power back on. a few minutes before the amps lost power, I had my subs cut out for a few seconds then come back on. I wasnt playing them at a crazy volume or anything so I'm not sure why they did this. I had played them at this volume many many times before without problem. My amps are a Alpine MRP-300 speaker amp, powering ID CTX comps and Alpine PDX 1.600 pushing two ssa Dcon 12s. Head unit still powers up if that helps but I think it gets power from a different source...

The connection to the battery seems good and there are no popped fuses from what I can see...again I'm not sure whats wrong because I did not change any gains and they seemed fine before. I really hope I didnt just blow $700 worth of amp away...Any help?

What kind of fuse do you have ? It may not look blown but may still be blown.

Also your remote lead may have went out.

yah, you are going to want to test for power and good ground. what kind of wiring are you running (sizes), do the power indicators light up like normal? having both go out at once, makes it pretty sure to be a power or ground problem, and you will need to actually test for power/ground if you cannot visually see any problems. one quick way of testing the remote power from the head is to disconnect the remote wires from the amp, and put a jumper between the remote terminal on the amps to the battery positive. if it comes on, then you are not getting remote power between the head and amps.

If you haven't done it already, disconnect all inputs and outputs and try to power them up with just battery power and a jumper from the positive power input and the remote input. (After you verify that power and ground are both secure and voltage is correct at the amps)
