Blown alternator

Hello, i just recently burned through my stock alternator on my chevy trailblazer. My setup right now is a MA Audio HK4000d amp, 2 12' Cerwin Vega Strokers, 5 farad battery cap, 4 gauge wiring, replaced factory battery with deep cycle. What do i have to do so that i dont burn through another alternator? i am open to all suggestions.

Most likely someone will tell you to get a high output alternator, and that the cap is pointless. You have a 150 amp alternator on your car right now. To constantly push a 4000w amp I would also get another deep cycle battery in the back as well. Which kind do you have as you mentioned you have one in there now. I have a red top and a little kinetik in the back. Also look up how to do the big 3 upgrade. But **** a 4000w amp?

Its a yellow top deep cycle. Ya i got the amp cheap from a friend so im trying to make it work, i know its alot of power but when it works they sound great. Also, by adding batteries to the back, wont that just put more stress on the alternator? having it charge multiple batteries?

I have also been looking into a high output alternator. The biggest i can find for a trailblazer is 300 amps. Would that be enough? its 300 max, 100 idle.

lol ya i know man, the 4 gauge sucks. im thinkin of getting 0/1 gauge but im just saying what i had when the alt went out.
Well, there's your reason //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif ... you better quit thinkin about getting 1/0 and actually do it. I'm using 0/1 for mine and I'm only running around 1400...

1) Get 0/1 wiring

2)Big 3 Wiring

3) HO Alty.. that amp does Maybe 3300-3600watts

4) 2nd batt is all wiringand alt doesnt work

you should get the Alt 1st since u need it!!! and the 0/1 and big 3 at the same time!!! then maybe a 2nd batt if needed.. with a 300amp alt, i doubt it, but it wont hurt

thank you all for the help. I just ordered some 1/0 gauge and enough to do the big 3. I think i have enough left over for a High Output alt but what size amperage alt should i get? the biggest i can find? what alt do some of you use that are powering amps about this size.

Still cant figure out what size alt to get. Also about how many feet of 1/0 will it take for the big 3 and to run to the amp in the back. My car is a 2002 Trailblazer.

well i have ordered a 300 amp alternator and 1/0 gauge wiring(enough for big 3 as well). So if i put in that alternator and run the 1/0 gauge you think i should be able to give the hk4000 enough power and not blow another alternator?

Should be able to... really need another battery in the back though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif
