Blew my subs....

So I guess its everyones mission to be a dick to someone who is relatively new to this. So this is how car audio people are. Anyways how about just one 18" like the Audioque HDC3? Oh I forgot to mention what amp I am running. I am running a Hifonics BXI20008D.

you sure you were running that amp to your CVRs at 4 ohms, not 2 or 1? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif:laugh://content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

theres no way u blew a cvr on 300rms getting clean signal. i have mine getting 500 each in one vehicle and 400 in another, and a clean signal, and theyve run great for over a year now. still hit very hard for what they are. so u must have ur gains set wrong, subs wired wrong, something is wrong!

x2 THIS

I've personally seen 3 separate installs with CVR's that had over 400 watts DAILY ported and didn't die.

IA 187 15's are my pick //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Kef

D1 means it has 2 1 ohm coils, and it runs at either .5 or 2 ohms. D2 means it has 2 2 ohm voice coils. To be run at 1 ohm or a 4 ohm load on the amp. Dual 2 is pretty popular. The AQ is a good choice if you have the room for a box that will be about 7 cube gross.

Well everyone has made fun of em for not bothering the gains but no one has told him the reason why he blew his subs. Settings gains are gonna make me personally a bit nervous and I guarantee with all the worrys of a clipped sound that this forum has...anyone that isnt too sure about it would be worried to. This guy just decided not to even fool with adjusting them...WHICH I actually considered BUT id rather get full power out of the amps. But yea havent seen anyone give any helpful advice yet.
