Blew my speakers

Sup everyone I blew my speakers and I dont know what to get?

My car needs 6 X 9's for the back dash and 4 inchers for the doors. Lmk what is the best out there right now im leaning towards these.

Polk Audio db 690 6"x9" 3-way Speakers - Rear

Polk Audio db 401 4" 2-way Speakers - Front Door

Let me know if these are any good and will i need to get a mid amp for these or wat?

Are these front and rear speakers being driven by an outboard amp or by the headunit?

What is your proposed budget for all of this?

You'll get many suggestions, likely, to simply ditch the rear fill idea and concentrate purely on front stage gear.

I have a really shitty deck an Aiwa CDC-Z137 and I know little to anything about car audio. They would be hooked up to the Head unit im assuming and money wise not really lookin to spend more the 250.

The Polks would be fine. If you are depending on your HU for power, I would look at something a little more efficient. Unless you plan on adding an amp in the near future for the front stage.

I think I may have to work on it in pieces the hu right now is 180 - 190 watts so I would need to upgrade in the near future. Maybe in another 2 months I Would by the HU and mid amp. I guess It all depens how funds come in you know.

It shouldn't be too much of a task to fit and benefit from 6.5" rounds up there.

Really at the best buy store it said get 4 inchers.... aye no biggie what would I have to do to make it able to fit a 6.5

You'll have to determine a couple things to see if you can fit an MDF baffle in there.

1. Measure the distance from the inner door skin/speaker mount to the inside of the door panel. This will tell you how much room you have to work with and how thick the MDF can be.

2. Take the factory speaker out, place it upside down (cone down) on a piece of MDF. Trace around the speaker and trace the factory bolt holes.

3. Take the new speaker and place it cone down centered inside the 4x6 tracing. Trace around it and the bolt holes.

4. Cut the 6.5 hole out according to the trace.

5. Cut the excess outside meterial off around the 4x6 trace. note: you may have to leave a little extra outer material (e.g.- make the oval wider) at the places where the 6.5 meets the 4x6 tracing.

6. Drill out the bolt holes only wide enough to give a tight screw/bolt mount, mount the MDF baffle to the 4x6 opening, then mount the 6.5 on it.

7. Done!

Yep, MDF is used primarily for sub enclosures, but has many other uses in the car audio realm. MDF = medium density fiberboard.

A baffle in this case is simply an adapter.

Thanks another dumb ? what is the easiest way to take of the panel on the door?

Alright I just looked at the front and they are 4 x 6. Let me know what would be the best ones I can find.
