Blew a ground trace in my headunit ....

My buddy (without thinking) pulled an RCA while the stereo/amp was on. I've now got a blown ground trace on my headunit RCA outputs (amp checked out fine). Instead of shipping off the headunit for warranty work, would a Ground Loop Isolator fix the problem? Ever since the ground trace blew in the headunit I've had quassi digital feedback (very low) and horrible engine whine (RPM dependant but doesn't get any louder with RPMs, just higher frequency.

When he pulled the RCA, did it mess up just the preamp output for that channel (front/rear/sub) or did it fry it all?

Oh, and for the record, it's a Pioneer DEH-P6600 headunit (with GEX P910 XM tuner to Alpine MRV-F450 5 channel, to Infinity Reference 6.5" components [front], 4" coax rear and Diamond Audio CM3 8" sealed between the seats)
