birth control shot...

my girlfriend is going tomorrow to get the birth control shot and I was wondering how long we had to wait before it was effective? I looked on the internet and what I found was "The shot protection begins immediately if the shot is givin within the first 5 days of your period". Does that mean it has to be 5 days before she starts....or cant be any less than 5 days before she starts. It will probably be another week or a little longer before she starts hers so if she gets the shot tomorrow can we go ahead and have ***?

I dont really understand what it is saying, and I dont know how accurate that information is. I found it on "Ask the experts".

Well my girl was thinkin of doin this but its not 100 percent like i thought so shes still thinking on it.....but I was talking to a friend of mine and she takes the shot she told me to wait at least 2 weeks but to be for sure a month...if u really cant wait then 2 weeks

That information is inaccurate. The shot fully protects your girlfriend 2 hours after she receives it.

So go ahead and fire one off in her. please dont listen to me...lol

my girl went on the shot last summer. The doc told her it was effective immediately, but we still took a lil precaution just in case for the first week or so. Now i have options on where i want my sperm to go.
