Birch or MDF?

8x4 3/4" mdf- 33.00/sheet

8x4 3/4" birch plywood- 44.00/sheet

birch for that price. around here it's a 20 dollar difference so an extra 40 for my box that i couldn't afford.

As long as it's at least 7-ply you should be fine...and it'd look great with a nice stain put on it.

buy baltic birch...make sure its not just MDF with a thin birch layer
