big three upgrade?

Do i need to do the "big three upgrade" to run an alpine mrp-m1000 (1000 watts rms) to 2 12's?
9 times out of 10; the "Big 3" is a waste of time & money. Most cars have very short runs going to ground & the alternator and upgrading these wires will yield no audible difference.

If it's an older car or a car with known grounding problems, a small run of 8ga to the chassis and to the block will fix most issues. Don't buy into the 'group think' that goes on in audio forums and certainly don't buy 1/0 and rewire under your hood; you'd be better off spending the money on $1 You-Call-Its.
