Big problem with a w/0

I was on my way to work today and all of a sudden one of my w/0 shit the bed. I dont think its blown though. I looked into the sub and it almost looks like the varnish on the windings broke apart. It seems like the wires are just floating around and there not shaped into a coil. When I hook it up and play it it sounds like the wires are rubbing all over inside, and theres no movement at all from the cone.

I understand a w/0 is bottom of the barrel as far as j/l is concerned but it should be that crappy should it?

These are pretty much brand new (1-2 months old), I could return them but i have a slight problem. The center caps came off so I glued them back on and I think that miught have voided my warranty. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/furious.gif.fc81ca146dbff91fede3ed290dbc4f4c.gif

my buddy blew up a 12'' wo just like that and after he glued the dust cap back in....it worked like new agian

too bad about your sub

entry level subs FTL

am i wrong or is the w0 coil rated at 100 so watts? you feed it triple that ....ya dont expect subs to take triple rms rating

Its rated at 125 RMS. I had two in parrallel giving them together 400w so about 200w a peice. JL says they can handle that and up to 250w is covered under warranty. http://mobile.jlaudio.com/pdfs/10_12_15W0_MAN.pdf

I knew I should have took it somewhere to have the caps glued back on. F-UUCKKKK I tried to save money going with a cheaper sub and now this shit happens! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/furious.gif.fc81ca146dbff91fede3ed290dbc4f4c.gif

Yea I did a shitty job gluing them on they would deffinatly know.
