BIG Power wire question for you guys!

Hmm, interested...but it'd still make sense in my mind thinking more would travel on it's surface and not in the center...
x2. I can't remember EXACTLY why the single is better, but it's something like the gaps in between the individual wires create extra resistance rather than having no empty space. It sounds like a small amount, but it adds up fast over a few feet. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, I haven't had Physics in 8 months.

Yea, that's another point...the one solid piece wouldn't have a ton of connections inside of it like the strands would.

Clearly the jacket is thicker in the other brand and the hyperflex has a noticably larger strand count but would it make a difference?
Probably not a huge difference if youre referring to voltage drop over 'x' feet comparison of the two...but I'd get the hyperflex of the two, for sure.

I would go with the hyperflex too. From the picture it looks like there is more copper than the other wire. It is also tinned to help prevent corrosion.

But is the hyperflex copper or is it aluminum?
What does it say on the jacket? If that is kicker hyperflex it's tinned copper which is just copper with a tin coating to prevent corrosion. No drawbacks vs straight copper.

Oh, and I can't believe that I didn't say this earlier but I would also think the finer strands would be better than the fewer, larger strands because there would be more contact with the finer strands with eachother...the larger diameter strands wouldnt be packed as tightly, again though...it'd matter very little.

Bingo. The differences we're talking about here are minuscule, but when you're running >10 feet of power wire and X-hundred/thousand watts, small variables increase quite rapidly.
