When running wire from Alt. to Bat. +, is it really important to use a fuse? i dont really understand in the tutorial it looks like it is just run to the Pos. on the fuse box and then straight to the battery.

If the tutorial say use a fuse, use one, it wouldn't be there otherwise.

The most important thing is safety, please use a fuse. Protects you and your equipment!!!
