when installing the big 3, does the wire that connects from the alternator to the chasis have to be connected to the chasis or can it be connected to the negative battey post as well? I also wanted to know if it does have to be connected to the chasis can it be connected to the same ground as the battery post to chasis ground ?

in other words my battery is grounded at both the chasis and the alternator bracket is this ok in order to get the full potential of the big 3? if not, is it ok if I just connect the alternator bracket ground to the same ground as the battery to chasis ground?

alternator to chasis is to ground the eletrical system better.

no, dont connect it to the bettery,

the neg battery should be connected to chasis and the neg alternator connected to the chassis, you dont want to bypass the chasis because your amps are also grounded to the chasis

but you could go from engine block to chasis

Most cars have a braided like cable that connects the block/alternator to the chasis but its most of the time not big enough so thats why you go alternator/block to chasis
