What the hell? Shipping an Eclipse head Unit instantly voids warranty?

I was told that even if you buy an Eclipse HU from an authorized store/dealer, unless you physically take it off their shelf, you have no warranty whatsover? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif I found a store that has some of last year's models left, but they are too far to drive to, so i was gonna have them deliver it to me, but was told by someone else that the head unit's 1 year warranty would be voided? If so that sucks. Is this true?

Well if they are an autorized dealer I'm sure when they tell you its under warranty, then its under warranty. But when some other guy you know tells you that it voids the warranty....don't listen to him. Chances are, he doesn't sell eclipse audio products for a living.

This is what I was told man. This is the dealer I would buy the 5425 from, not the 5444 from, thats another dealer. But now if i go with the 5425 id honestly rather spend the extra 30 bucks in a local store than buy it from him. Strange thing was i was reccomended him by 2 seperate people who don't know eachother, but lashing out at potential customers is unnaceptable and unprofessional.

No way, with gas money (stupid LS1 engine) and tolls it would be like an extra 60-70 bucks just to drive down there. Not worth it, nor do i wanna waste a whole day.
