big 3 upgrade

I am learning of the big 3 upgrade, call me some what a newby when it comes to car audio, was wandering how effective the big 3 upgrade would be. I am going to be running around a 1500w amp, to 1 15 orion h2 2ohm which is 2000w rms, and also going to have a aftermarket headunit. I was thinking of geting my alternator rewound, big 3 upgrade, will this be enough??? Also how many amps should I have my alt rewound to?

i heard rewound alts don't last as long as an actual HO alt. how many amps is your current alt? you are gonna have to hook everything up and see what needs to be upgraded.

what do you mean by rewound? You can get your alternator rewound to put out more amperes or do you do just do it to "re up" the power output.

kinda new also.

id highly doubt its 160, most gm cars with the 3.1/3.4 have a 105 amp

yup my 3.1 GP had a 105 amp. i highly doubt it is 160.

first off what amp is it? i would go with a 200 amp then you know you have enough power, and if you go with a bigger system you got it.
