OK I have my subs ran with this↓.

4 Gauge Amplifier Installation Kit

Anyway I broke my RCA tips off in my amp and have to get a new cable so I figured while I am placing a order I should go ahead and get the stuff to do the big three.

Here is what I was going to get.

10 foot of this.

What size fuse should I put in this?

A few ring terminals.

And the new RCAs

So am I missing anything?

have you measured the big 3 length already? if you havent i'd go with 11ft just to be safe.

what did you want to use the fuse holder for? the big 3? for starters that fuse holder only fits 4g. if you want to use a fuse in between your alt and bat you need a 1/0 holder with like a 250A fuse.

I noticed I put the wrong fuse holder and fixed it.

I did not measure it but some one who has almost the same SUV as me told me it took them around 8 foot.

it is going to be done on a 04 mountaineer premier.

Ok I am trying to get cost down so if my alt only puts out 130 apms would using 4ga and the smaller fuse holder with a 150a fuse really hurt all that much?

i would still use the 0 ,also i like to ground the alt with 0 gauge to the body ,ha which makes it the big 4 and get 12 ft ,better to have more than less.also i wouldn;t use the fuse between the alt and battery personally

Why would you not use the fuse?

If you got a 130 amp alt, I dont think you need it. I ran 1000 on a 90 amp just fine unless everything that could be turned on was on. I would try it without the upgrade first man if you have a good fresh starter battery

what you need to understand is that the wire between your battery and alt is only for the stock system,if you replace it with larger wire your alt will send charging voltage to your battery faster which in turn will help reduce the strain on your electrical system in your car ,ie which is better foe your stereo system

I had it all set up and working fine (then I broke the RCA's off in the amp) and the light only dimmed a little but the alt belt did start squealing pretty bad.

exactly. but think of this way, you can only sip so much fluid thru a straw ,but if you make the it bigger you can sip the fluid faster cause the larger straw will allow the fluid to flow quicker.i'm not saying that your alt will produce more amps what i'm saying is that it will recharge the battery faster because of the larger wire.it my also reduce or eliminate the head lights from dimming.as far as the fuse it will restrict the power flow to the battery
