Big 3 Quick Question...

I was following some wires today trying to see how difficult my big 3 would be to do. Instead of :

1. alt + to bat +

2. chassis to engine

3. bat- to engine

My car seems to have:

1. alt+ to bat+

2. bat - to chassis

3. bat- to engine

Is this ok? I was just going to get the 2 batt. terminals from knu that hold 2 1ga. and 1 4ga. one for the pos. and one for the neg.... this is perfectly fine right?

If you're connecting the amp negative to the chassis, it may help the voltage at your amp to also create an engine block to chassis to give less resistance between the alt and amp.

ok, i just couldnt locate the factory engine to chassis wire so i figured it was done a little differently, but now i understand.

Do all cars have these 3 factory wires, or might i have to create a new spot for my engine to chassis?

It's possible one doesn't exist. Even if one does, you can pick a bolt on your engine block and a bolt/empty spot (to use your own bolt in) on your chassis. Just sand the spots to remove any dirt and paint to give you a good conductivity spot.

i found the engine to chassis ground, there is also a different engine to chassis that i am not sure about...... i might replace 6 wires..... + alt to +bat, - bat to engine, - bat to chassis, engine to chassis x2 is it necessary??

I will do the big three first and then go from there......
